Trinity Mission of Rocky Mount will host the Country Classics at 7 p.m.
The Community Christmas-Tree Lighting will be held on the front lawn of the Franklin County Courthouse at 5 p.m. Event will include presentation of trophies to Franklin County Parks and Recreation Christmas Card Contest winners, a children's parade and light refreshments. The Franklin County Retail Merchants Association's annual auction will begin at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post Six building in Rocky Mount. Items donated by more than 150 local businesses for sale. Call 483-9211.

The annual Old Virginia Christmas event at Booker T. Washington National Monument will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Activities include a "Hunt for the Yule Log," children's activities, a special reading of Booker T.
